According to the company, they are exploring and developing a feature that allows users to log into third-party apps through their ChatGPT accounts. This idea is similar to features like "Sign in with Google" or "Sign in with Apple," but this time with a focus on an advanced AI assistant.
OpenAI has invited software developers and business owners to express their interest in utilizing this feature. For this purpose, forms have been prepared to collect information such as user scale, use cases for AI services, and their technical requirements. This step appears to be a prelude to expanding the ChatGPT ecosystem and deeper integration with online services.
With over 600 million active monthly users, ChatGPT is currently one of the most widely used AI-based tools in the world. Now, OpenAI aims to strengthen its presence across diverse fields such as e-commerce, social networks, productivity apps, and personal services by enabling "Sign in with ChatGPT." This feature can provide secure, fast, and intelligent access to apps while offering a unique user experience, as users’ personal information and settings will be processed and utilized within the ChatGPT language model framework.
Interestingly, a preview of this feature was available in the Codex CLI beta version—one of the developer tools. In this version, some Plus and Pro users received free API credits by using this feature; an initiative that could pave the way for broader testing before the public launch.
However, no precise information has yet been released regarding the public launch date of this feature, and it remains unclear which companies have expressed interest in using it.
